Okinawa Karate Kobudo Kai Karate & Kickboxing Classes in Elmont

After moving to Elmont a few years ago, I debated on what extracurricular activities I could sign my daughter up for. During the pandemic she put on some extra weight and I had to find some form of exercise for her. My daughter saw a Karate Kid movie and took a liking to it and she asked me to watch more karate movies. I thought about it and also realized with school bullying, that I would like for her to be able to defend herself. I've driven by the Okinawa Karate a few times, and one day I pulled over just to see how the kids in the class performed. The kids followed instructions and performed in unison. I went home and asked my daughter if she would like to take karate classes and she said she would. We went for a trial and my daughter instantly took a liking to it. During the classes, I would sit in waiting area. She struggled for the first few weeks and I thought maybe this wasn't for her. I also thought that in the beginning that the Sensei was very aggressive with her, but then I realized that this was necessary because this is needed in order for my daughter to improve, because life is not easy. I also did not want her to quit just because things are tough. Over the next few weeks, I saw an improvement. I saw her lose weight and she's gotten better at the techniques. I purchased the equipment and used the online videos to help her practice and I noticed a major difference. Her blocks became firm, her punches had more power and her kicks got stronger. She moved up in rank and this was such an accomplishment for her. She reminds me on some days on what time she is going to Karate. I can honestly say that this school is phenomenal, and they have done a great job.

I enjoyed my yoga and cardio kickboxing class. I am sure that I will meet my holiday fitness goals. All instructors are knowledgeable and very helpful. I would recommend anyone to give these classes a try.
